It Really Works! (Sign Language with Babies)

I am a mother of 3 and work with Children on a weekly basis. With each of my children I progressed with sign language. My youngest has quite the vocabulary. Her doctor was not impressed and said she should be talking, I said she is!

When a 18 month old can tell me whether she wants juice, crackers, milk or cheese snack time is easy. When she signs she is wet, sleepy, tired or hungry who can complain with that!

How did I do it?

I simply used both signs and spoken words with her all the time and the family caught on quickly. We started at 6 months old saying yes, no, please and thank you.

We would sign cup and water, milk or juice which ever was in it.

We packed a pocket size photo album in her diaper bag with basic signs so when she went to church it was there for her teachers. I recently had a nephew ( 13 months) visit for two days and he went home signing please, thank you, more and finished.
His mom thanked me!

It (Baby Sign Language) works, and can make you life less frustrating.
