Kids Are Sponges - My Deaf Child Story

by jason brand

My son was born hearing but due to medication required to save his life the cochlea of his ears were damaged.

We found his hearing loss at around a year or age and were connected with the local deaf and hard of hearing group.

There we found support and unconditional love and understanding because they all get what we were going through.

My son soon became almost addicted to watching his signing videos and has blossomed with his communication.

He wears hearing aids to help him acclimate himself to spoken language but loves to sign and is not timid or reserved about it, a proud Deaf child.

Start your children young and they absorb it like sponges but parents need to teach them so get to work, its worth it.
