Remember the Goal - Baby Signing is Communicating

When I run into people who are skeptical about signing with their child (or mine) specifically because they've "heard somewhere" that signing might delay speech, I simply remind them that the goal of signing is simply communication.

If a child can communicate his or her wants or needs with their caretaker, it shouldn't matter how it's done.

Signing allows children to do this at an earlier age.

And so long as you SAY the word while signing it, the kids WILL learn the vocal word eventually.
