Using Baby Sign Language Means Better Communication and Vocabulary

I ran into some people over 4th of July weekend that didn't approve of me using sign with my 5 month old daughter.
As they were trying to tell me that I just need to talk to her, I was asking my daughter if she wanted Milk, in sign.
I explained that Signing at a young age increases communication between you and your baby and it increases vocabulary.
A friend of mine that also used sign with his son (now 2 years old) helped me explain this and his son still uses it.
